Fizzy Drinks Linked to Respiratory Diseases!
If you are one of the many people who consume at least half a litre of soft drinks a day, you may be putting yourself at risk of asthma or the severe breathing condition Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder.
Half a litre is only just over 1.5 cans of soft drink a day.
An Australian study of over 16,000 people over the age of 16 found one in 10 drank at least half a litre of soft drinks a day.
"The amount of soft drink consumption is associated with an increased chance of asthma and /or COPD. There exists a dose-response relationship", the researcher report in the journal Respirology.
In total, 13.3% of those who had asthma and 15.6% of those with COPD said they drank more than half a litre of soft drinks a day.
